A Bike for Every Rider, Part Two

As promised, here is round two of what bike you should buy.  We continue to reply to your answers to our questions about...  Oh , never mind.  Just read Part One first.

"I have been having a few issues with mobility.  I'm getting older, you know, and I'd like a little more stability."  Let's check out these adult trikes from Sun.  They have 24" wheels, a front handbrake (that locks for added stability for getting on and off), and are very comfortable.  There is a 7-speed drivetrain upgrade available as well.  These are great bikes for those who have maybe had a surgery that prevents them from riding a 2-wheeler, or maybe you just need the added confidence that three wheels brings.

"I'm looking for a cottage bike, you know?  We have a lot of visitors and grandkids, and lots of people will ride it.  It needs to be low maintenance!"  You need a Jamis Earth Cruiser.  Single speed, coaster brake, swept-back handlebars for easy, comfortable riding and low maintenance.  These are great for tooling around the neighborhood, hitting the beach, or letting the grandkids have fun at the cottage (providing they are big enough to ride this bike, of course).  And, hey, they're going on sale in May!!

"Well, as a matter of fact I've been riding mountain bikes for many years, and I am really interested in upgrading my ride to something maybe with a full suspension or a really nice hardtail."  Great!  We carry several options from Scott and Norco in this category.  Norco has the Fluid HT or FS.  Scott has the Scale 965 and 925.  You can also step up to the Scott Spark 950 or even the 910.  And don't forget the Norco Optic C3, too!  We would love to talk to you about all of the possibilities of our high-end mountain bike options.

"I want a road bike.  There is nothing like the open road.  Asphalt is my favorite.  Point me in a direction and I will ride all day."  Isn't this what riding is all about, after all?  Ahhh, the open road.  It's a wonderful thing.  We do carry a few road models, though as of this writing we have only one in stock!  The Scott Speedster line is a great road bike, available in several component configurations.

"I really like the thought of an electric bike."  Great!  We have several models to choose from.  Beginning with the Jamis Hudson E-2, our e-bike category is really expanding this year.  This summer will see a redesign of the Scott Sub-Active E-Ride, and we will be bringing in a e-version of the Scott Sub Cross and the Scott Aspect 920.  We are very excited about these newcomers, and we are also happy that we can offer the Hudson, which is a great entry-level price point for an e-bike.

The final category, one which we haven't spoken of here, is the Catrike.  These recumbent tricycles are literally in a class by themselves, so we will write about them separately as well!  Look for a future discussion about these exciting machines!

As always, we are proud and happy to be your bike shop.  If you have any questions or need any advice, we'd love to hear from you.  Stop in, email, call, send a letter...  We will be here when you're ready for your next bike.
